I think this is the winning combination of crust and sauces! The roasted tomato sauce gives it a bit more kick than other sauces and this dough recipe is a lot moister than the other recipes I've tried.

Pizza Dough from Better Homes and Gardens (simplified instructions)
ReplyDelete2 ¾ to 3 ¼ cups all-purpose flour
1 package active dry yeast
1 cup warm water
2 tbsp olive oil
Combine the flour (I used 3 cups) and yeast, make a well in the center and add the warm water and olive oil. Using mixer with a dough hook beat until combined (2-3 minutes). [You could just knead it]. When combined and fluffy, turn onto a floured surface and knead until it is moderately stiff, smooth and elastic.
Divide in ½, cover, and let rise 10 minutes. Makes 2 pizzas
Toss or roll into the thickness you want. Top and bake at 400* for 15-20 minutes.
